  • Bakotopia’s "Golden Child"

First, shame on me for waiting 22 days to post an update on this blog! Part of that is due to the holidays, but as you may have guessed, it’s also because we’ve had our heads down working on a new version of Bakomatic. More to come on that when we launch in a week or two, but here’s a hint: the new stuff will be very social in nature.

The other thing that’s been taking up my time is a long-overdue transition of the Bakotopia brand management to a guy named Matt Munoz. As a longtime member of one of the most well-known bands in Bakersfield (Mento Buru), and one of the very first bands to discover Bakotopia a year ago, Matt’s the “Golden Child” we’ve been looking for. In just a few short weeks, he already has a weekly Podcast called Bakotunes that’s sending shockwaves through the local music scene. I couldn’t ask for a better person to take Bakotopia to the next level in year two. It also frees up my time to focus more on the platform, which is now running three sites — with more to come.

By the way, if anyone knows of a good UI designer in the Denver/Boulder/Fort Collins area, let me know as we may have an opening.
