In London Oct. 26-27 — Terrorists be Damned!
Posted on August 11th, 2006 No commentsI’ve agreed to speak on a panel at the World Association of Newspapers Digital Publishing Conference in London this October 26-27. The panel is about “new content opportunities,” including citizen journalism and social networking, and needless to say I’m really looking forward to it! Here’s a little more recent info on the conference.
As luck would have it, one day after I said I’d do it I find out that terrorists have been plotting to bomb transatlantic flights between London and the U.S. I thought this would bother me. I saw the headline pop up as I was pricing flights on Orbitz. It honestly only made me pause for about 2 seconds. I guess I must just be used to the idea of terrorism, or maybe I just travel so much that I’ve learned to ignore it.
Besides, to quote an overused phrase from 2001, if I didn’t go “then the terrorists would win.” Or something like that. At any rate, I’m not letting something like that get between me and a pint of bitter at a real English pub
If any industry people reading this are also planning to be at this conference, ping me and maybe we can hook up and have that pint together!
